On October 31, Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva participated in the UNESCO international dialogue "Transforming Tomorrow Today: Skills for a Sustainable Future" in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, the event brought together education ministers to discuss pressing challenges such as digitalization, resilience to climate change, social inequality, and the shortage of professional skills.

In her speech, Kendirbaeva noted that the pace of change in the world is outpacing updates to school curricula.

“The ‘Altyn Kazyq’ project serves as our guiding beacon in the era of artificial intelligence. We are developing a new generation 12-year school focused on updated content, a strong STEM direction, and the development of soft skills,” she emphasized.

“Our goal is not merely to keep up with technologies, but to provide children with the tools and skills that allow them to learn independently, explore the world, and adapt to it throughout their lives. We aim to raise a generation that will work in harmony with AI while preserving human qualities—curiosity, responsibility, and creativity,” the minister added.

Participants of the event discussed what skills and knowledge young people need for a sustainable future, as well as possible directions for international cooperation, including mutual recognition of educational and professional achievements.
