At the 75th session of the European Regional Committee of the World Health Organization, taking place from October 28 to 30 in Copenhagen (Denmark), the Minister of Health Erkin Checheybaev is participating.

During his speech, he highlighted Kyrgyzstan's efforts in integrating services for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at the primary healthcare level. Checheybaev emphasized that this area is one of the main priorities of the Ministry and an important part of cooperation with WHO, as reported by the Ministry of Health's press service.

The Minister focused on the early detection and control of diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. He also noted the implementation of simplified clinical protocols, the increased role of nurses, and the development of digital tools for monitoring the quality of healthcare.

In his speech, the Minister pointed out that the principles of the new European WHO program for 2026–2030 — equity, innovation, and intersectoral collaboration — are reflected in Kyrgyzstan's national strategy for combating NCDs.

Checheybaev also emphasized the importance of involving local self-government bodies, public organizations, and patient associations in promoting a healthy lifestyle, as well as the need for joint efforts to combat commercial factors affecting health.
