From October 27 to November 1, 2014 (conference hall of the Republican Scientific Library of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek), the first training course "Management of activities aimed at ensuring fair and quality medical services in the maternal, newborn, and child health system" will take place with the technical support of the Regional Office of the UNICEF for Central and Eastern Europe/CIS.
The training will be organized by the health department of the UNICEF Regional Office in collaboration with the European School of Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (Trieste, Italy).
The UNICEF Regional Office for Central and Eastern Europe/CIS, in partnership with the European School of Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health, is organizing a training course on issues of equity and evidence-based planning, aimed at improving and incorporating quality management of health services into the agenda. The goal of the course is to provide participants with a "step-by-step" guide and to attempt to utilize their previous experience in applying various quality management tools to ensure their maximum optimization and application to influence health policy development at both national and regional/district levels. Additionally, the course will serve as an interactive forum and provide opportunities for sharing best practices among participants.
The ultimate outcome of the training is the development of feasible national action plans related to all necessary prerequisites for planning a strong and sustainable quality management system to ensure fair and quality medical care in maternal and child health.
The course is aimed at enhancing the capacity of 36 leaders of health organizations and medical professionals from Osh, Batken, Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Kul, Naryn, Chui, and Talas regions, as well as Bishkek, in improving the quality of medical services in healthcare and quality management at the district and regional levels.
The initiator of the training course is the UNICEF Representation in the Kyrgyz Republic in close coordination with the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
