The Audit Chamber identified violations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs amounting to 72.7 million soms

According to the press service, the Audit Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic has completed an audit of the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its foreign representations for the years 2023–2024.

The audit results showed that financial violations totaling 72.7 million soms were found in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These violations pertain to errors in the budgeting process, the use of property, as well as reporting and procurement. Out of the mentioned amount, 5.3 million soms, which are to be returned, have already been refunded.

In the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, overpayments for salaries, social contributions, and transportation expenses funded from special funds were recorded. These funds have also been returned. The Diplomatic Academy identified instances of using grants outside the budget and violations of labor payment and procurement legislation.

In foreign institutions, discrepancies were found in the accounting of inventories, rental expenses, and travel expenses. In some consulates, services were provided for dollars, which is a violation of accounting rules.

The Council of the Audit Chamber has developed solutions and instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to rectify the identified violations and follow the auditors' recommendations.
