The press service noted: “The Russian side has confirmed its readiness to facilitate the prompt resolution of the issue regarding the return of the previous stay duration for Kazakh drivers engaged in international transportation, up to 180 days.”
As of January 1, 2025, changes regarding the stay duration of foreign citizens without registration came into effect in Russia — it was reduced to 90 days. These changes affect all foreigners arriving in the country without visas, except for certain cases provided for by legislation and international agreements.
Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Bolatbek Najimetdinuly reported on his Instagram on October 10 that the Russian government decided not to impose the 90-day restriction for drivers engaged in international freight and passenger transportation. He emphasized that this decision will help preserve “thousands of jobs” for carriers from Kazakhstan, as they will avoid fines and deportation due to the new restrictions.
