According to the results of 2025, the economy of Kyrgyzstan showed impressive growth. What factors contributed to this, according to government reports?

Maintaining High Growth Rates

Preliminary data shows that the gross domestic product (GDP) of Kyrgyzstan in 2025 amounted to over 1.9 trillion soms, increasing by 11.1% compared to the period of January-December 2024.

It is worth noting that by the end of 2024, the GDP was approximately 1.6 trillion soms, reflecting a growth of 11.5% compared to January-December 2023, according to statistics.

GDP Structure

By the end of 2025, the structure of the gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan looks as follows:

Exports, Prices, and Salaries. How the Economy of Kyrgyzstan Developed in 2025?
The main sectors contributing to growth were construction (+21.1%), wholesale and retail trade, including the repair of cars and motorcycles (+20.9%), as well as manufacturing (+9.8%). Net taxes on products made a significant contribution to GDP (+12.1%).

Prices for Goods and Services

One of the main problems remained the rising prices of goods and services, which worried the population. From January to December 2025, the growth of consumer prices and tariffs was 9.4% compared to December 2024, as reported by the chairman of the National Statistical Committee, Baktybek Kudaybergenov, at a press conference in Bishkek.

Nevertheless, according to authorities, the average nominal salary in November 2025 was 42,954 soms, increasing by 19.1% compared to January-November 2024.

Despite the growth of nominal incomes, the real purchasing power for many citizens remains in doubt. For example, in 2025, the cost of one square meter of housing in Bishkek increased by 26.8%, while in Osh it rose by 37%. It is becoming increasingly difficult for people saving to buy an apartment or house. The situation is particularly exacerbated by the increase in electricity tariffs: starting from May 1, the cost of 1 kWh for most of the population (including residents of remote and mountainous areas) increased from 1.11 to 1.37 soms, which is a 23.4% increase. This exceeds the growth rate of the average nominal salary and is especially felt in low-income families.

State of Foreign Trade

According to the latest data, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover from January to November 2025 amounted to $14 billion 19.4 million, which is 12.2% less compared to the same period in 2024.

The main reason for the decline in exports was the reduction in gold supplies, which decreased by $1 billion 531.5 million.

Trade with the member states of the EAEU amounted to $4.9 billion, which is 1.3% higher than last year, with the largest share accounted for Russia (64.1%) and Kazakhstan (33.5%).
