On the evening of January 22, the price of precious metals set new records once again.
Silver surpassed the $96 mark for the first time in history, increasing by 3.81 percent to $96.17 at the time of writing the news.
Platinum also set a new record, reaching a price of $2555.8 per ounce, while gold rose to $4887.86, just a few cents shy of its record from January 21, which was $4888.22.
Experts attribute this sharp rise in precious metal prices to a new wave of geopolitical instability, particularly in the context of events surrounding Greenland. Although the rhetoric softened somewhat after U.S. President Donald Trump's speech in Davos, discussions on this topic remain active. In particular, Trump informed European allies of his readiness to take tough measures in response to potential sell-offs of U.S. bonds.
