On the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), the price of platinum futures for delivery in January 2026 reached a level above $2,300 per troy ounce, marking the first occurrence since March 4, 2008. As a result, the price increased by 10 percent, according to trading data.

As of December 23, the price of platinum futures rose by 10.14 percent, reaching $2,301.2 per troy ounce. By 3:49 Bishkek time, the futures price had increased to $2,302.5, reflecting a growth of 10.2 percent.

As for palladium, the futures for delivery in March 2026 on NYMEX were valued at $1,970.5 per troy ounce, up by 6.83 percent.

It was previously reported that gold futures for delivery in February 2025 on the Comex exchange, which is a division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, reached an all-time high, exceeding $4,500 per troy ounce.
