The National Bank of the country noted that interest in purchasing gold bars remains high. They are acquired by both individuals and legal entities, including both residents and non-residents.

Metric bars are high-quality gold products with a fineness of 999.9, each having an individual serial number, certificate, and protective packaging. The National Bank offers bars in seven weight categories: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 grams.
Demand Trends
In recent years, there has been a sharp increase in the sales of metric bars. In 2022, 125.3 kilograms were sold, in 2024 this figure was 63.8 kilograms, while in the first ten months of 2025, 154.8 kilograms have already been sold. The National Bank emphasizes that interest in gold among the population remains high, as it is seen as a reliable way to preserve capital.Buyback
During the same period, the National Bank repurchased 11,342 bars with a total weight of 74.3 kilograms. The buyback prices are set daily and depend on:
- the evening fixing prices for gold by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA);
- the official exchange rate of the som to the US dollar;
- costs for manufacturing, packaging, transportation, insurance, taxes, and customs clearance.

- 2 grams — 24,190 soms;
- 5 grams — 58,634 soms;
- 10 grams — 115,330 soms;
- 100 grams — 1,169,518 soms.
Buyback Price:
- 1 gram — 12,685 soms;
- 2 grams — 24,094 soms;
- 5 grams — 58,459 soms;
- 10 grams — 115,100 soms;
- 100 grams — 1,135,454 soms.
Since the beginning of 2025, the price of a 1-gram bar has increased from 8,825 soms to 12,749 soms, which corresponds to an increase of more than 44 percent. This growth is attributed to the overall trends of rising gold prices and increasing demand for investment bars.
Global Gold Prices
In 2025, gold prices on the global market reached historical highs. According to LBMA data, by the beginning of autumn, quotations exceeded $4,200 per troy ounce. The increase in prices has been one of the factors driving interest in investment gold.
