
According to the report from the National Bank, at the end of the IV quarter of 2025, there was a noticeable increase in cash in circulation in Kyrgyzstan, as well as an increase in the volumes of cash inflows and withdrawals in commercial banks.
As of January 1, 2026, the total amount of cash reached 300 billion 778.3 million soms. Of this amount, 36 billion 166.7 million soms were held in bank cash registers, while 264 billion 611.6 million soms were outside the banking system. This means that compared to the same period last year, the volume of cash increased by 51 billion 822.1 million soms, which corresponds to a 24.4% growth.
In the IV quarter of 2025, commercial banks received 1 trillion 680 billion 175.6 million soms, which is 264 billion 920.6 million soms or 18.7% more than in the IV quarter of 2024.
At the same time, during the specified period, 1 trillion 692 billion 591.4 million soms were withdrawn from bank cash registers, exceeding the figures of the IV quarter of 2024 by 271 billion 568.5 million soms, or 19.1%.
The level of cash return to bank cash registers at the end of the IV quarter of 2025 was 99.3%. This figure slightly decreased by 0.3 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
Overall, the data on cash circulation in the republic indicate an increase in cash operations and a high degree of cash return to the banking system.
