The decision to prohibit the inclusion of service charges in the bills of catering establishments was made to protect consumer rights. This was announced by Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He added that there is a corresponding calculation.
“Currently, we are implementing measures in the service sector. Establishments are not allowed to include service charges in the menu. According to the legislation, service fees must be voluntary. Thus, if it is included in the bill, it is considered a violation of consumer rights. As is known, recently this sector has shown a significant increase in prices,” he noted.
