At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev shared information about current measures to regulate prices on socially significant goods.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, is implementing relevant initiatives.

“With the support of the deputies, amendments were made to the Tax Code, which granted the Cabinet of Ministers the authority to regulate prices. Within the framework of these powers, import customs duties were abolished, certain preferences were provided, and VAT exemptions were introduced. The post-pandemic period turned out to be the most difficult, with inflation reaching double-digit values. Thanks to the measures taken, the Cabinet of Ministers has managed to stabilize prices, and work in this direction continues,” he noted.

Amangeldiev also added that state regulation of meat prices continues, market monitoring is being conducted, and necessary measures are being taken.

“In addition, we are working together with the National Bank to curb inflation. As a result of last year, the inflation rate was 9.2%. This year, we aim to prevent the inflation rate from exceeding 8%,” he concluded.
