
At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry Bakyt Torobaev reported that for the successful conduct of spring fieldwork in the country, 182 thousand tons of fertilizers are needed.
Currently, 22 thousand tons have been supplied, which is approximately 30% of the total required volume. Fertilizer supplies are being handled by 8 companies through 30 retail outlets.
Torobaev also noted that currently, prices for ammonia range from 23 to 30 soms per kilogram, while urea costs from 29 to 39 soms per kilogram. In 2026, it is expected to sow 1 million 250 thousand hectares of agricultural land, which is 3 thousand hectares more than last year.
