The bus station in Naryn began its operations in 1968.

Historical data indicates that the development of passenger transport in the city started in the mid-20th century. By 1996, Naryn had reliable road connections with all the villages in the Naryn region.

The main highways passing through Naryn include the republican road Naryn – Balykchy and the international route Naryn – Torugart – Kashgar (China). Through Balykchy, connections with other regions of Kyrgyzstan were ensured (as of 1996).

In 1996, the revenue from passenger transport amounted to 174,467 soms.

The bus station underwent a complete reconstruction in 2025 and was reopened for operation. It is now in municipal ownership of the city, which has led to improved service conditions.

The second floor of the building was converted into a dormitory, while the first floor features a waiting area and various service zones. Asphalt has been laid around the bus station.

Of the 807 million soms allocated for major repairs from the President's Stabilization Fund, 53 million soms were directed towards the reconstruction of the bus station.
