
In Bishkek, on February 12, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Head of the President's Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, a final meeting of the capital's mayoralty board took place.
According to the mayor's office, the First Deputy Mayor, Mirlanbek Baigonchokov, presented the results of the city's socio-economic development for 2025:
“In 2025, the socio-economic development of Bishkek was carried out within the framework of various state and municipal programs, as well as taking into account the ongoing ADB initiatives. The main goal of the mayor's office was to ensure sustainable economic growth, attract investments, develop infrastructure, and improve management efficiency amid the expansion of the urban territory.
Regarding key macroeconomic indicators, according to the National Statistical Committee, there has been a threefold increase over the past 5 years. By the end of 2024, the gross regional product amounted to 744.0 billion soms, with a growth rate of 115.8%.

The market services sector also demonstrated positive trends, increasing by 5.4 times over the past 5 years. In 2025, the volume of market services in Bishkek amounted to 1 trillion 879 billion 238.3 million soms, with a growth rate of 114.5% compared to 2024.
The consumer price index, reflecting the level of inflation, was 107.8% for 2025 compared to the previous year. In conditions of increased market activity, great attention was paid to issues of price stability and protecting citizens' interests. As part of price control for meat products, 461 raids were conducted with the participation of the antimonopoly service and other authorities.
In the construction sector, significant growth was also recorded in 2025, which is an important indicator of investment activity. The volume of gross construction output increased by 2.3 times over the past 5 years, amounting to 143.5 billion soms, which is 19.7% more compared to the previous year.
The average salary in Bishkek increased by 2.4 times over the past 5 years and amounted to 54,672.9 soms from January to November 2025, which is 24.4% more compared to the same period in 2024.
The subsistence minimum during the same period increased by 169.4%, amounting to 8,984.12 soms per person in 2025, which is 10.0% higher than in 2024.”
Mirlanbek Baigonchokov also noted that as of January 1, 2026, the number of officially registered unemployed decreased to 962 people compared to 2020, which is a reduction of 2,847 people over the past 5 years.
