At a meeting of the committee on industrial policy, transport, fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction, member of the Jogorku Kenesh Bakhirdin Shabazov raised the issue of the timeline for the construction of the Bishkek–Kant highway.
In response, the First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Beknazar Bazaraliev stated that the project has already been included in the list of capital investments. However, this year, the ministry's priority remains the completion of the alternative North–South highway, the southern ring road, and the GES-5 highway.
According to Bazaraliev, after the completion of the mentioned projects and the rerouting of traffic flows, the construction of the Bishkek–Kant highway will begin.
Additionally, the deputy drew attention to the poor condition of the existing road and called for at least patch repairs, noting that traffic on it is currently difficult.
