The negotiations between the official delegations of the Kyrgyz Republic and Romania took place in Bucharest from February 23 to 26, 2026, with the aim of concluding an Agreement on the elimination of double taxation of income and the prevention of tax evasion. This information was provided by the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meetings, the parties carefully analyzed the draft agreement and, as a result, reached a principled agreement on its text.
It is expected that the signing of the document will take place after the completion of all necessary internal procedures in both countries.
The agreement aims to eliminate double taxation, create favorable conditions for investment, protect the citizens of both states from discriminatory taxation, and develop information exchange between the competent authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Romania.
