As a result of operational actions, employees of the weight and dimension control on the Bishkek-Osh highway were detained for regularly extorting bribes from drivers. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to available data, the workers regularly received illegal amounts from drivers, ranging from 1000 to 5000 soms, which allowed trucks to pass without hindrance, even if they exceeded the established weight limits and violations were not recorded. Preliminary estimates suggest that between 150 and 200 trucks passed through the posts daily.
Based on these facts, a criminal case was initiated under Article 337 "Abuse of official position" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During operational activities, employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained some of the weight and dimension control workers while they were receiving bribes. For citizens A.Z. born in 1991, S.U. born in 1981, A.A. born in 1998, A.R. born in 1994, M.M. born in 1979, T.T. born in 1973, A.B. born in 1994, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.
