On January 3, 2026, police officers from the Kurshab rural department unlawfully detained two citizens, using physical force and failing to issue any procedural documents. As a result of the actions of the police, one of the detainees, citizen A.B., sustained serious health injuries.
In this regard, on January 5, 2025, the Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region initiated a criminal case based on the signs of crimes provided for in Article 130, Part 3, Clause 2 and Article 338, Part 2, Clause 4 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The case was transferred to the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is responsible for the city of Osh and the Osh region.
Currently, three police officers — "S.H.", "A.A." and "I.K." — have been detained and, by court decision, placed in custody for a period of 2 months. Investigative actions are underway.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region is monitoring the progress of the criminal case, relevant written instructions have been issued, and necessary expert examinations have been appointed. Based on the results of the investigation, procedural decisions will be made in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
