An investigation has been initiated in the Uzgen district regarding the actions of police officers, as reported by the General Prosecutor's Office of Kyrgyzstan.
According to information, on January 3, 2026, police officers from the Kurshab rural department of the Uzgen police department abused their powers by illegally detaining two citizens and using physical force against them without completing the necessary procedural documents. As a result of the actions of the police officers, one of the detainees, A.B., sustained serious injuries.
In connection with the incident, on January 5, 2025, the Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region initiated a criminal case under part 3 of article 130 and part 2 of article 338 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The case has been transferred to the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the State Committee for National Security, which covers the city of Osh and the Osh region, for further investigation.
At present, three police officers identified as "S.H.", "A.A.", and "I.K." have been detained and, by court decision, placed in custody for a period of two months, during which investigative actions are ongoing.
The General Prosecutor's Office reports that the criminal case is under the control of the Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region, and instructions have been given to conduct examinations and other necessary measures. Upon completion of the investigation, appropriate procedural decisions will be made in accordance with the norms of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
