In the Osh region, three individuals have been detained for deceiving citizens by posing as law enforcement officers.

The information about this incident was disseminated by the press service of the Osh City Department of Internal Affairs.

According to the agency, last week, officers from the criminal investigation department of the Suylman-Too police station arrested two men from the city of Osh and one from the Kara-Suu district.

The investigation suggests that the detainees went to the home of a local resident and, threatening him with phrases like "you are involved in illegal activities," began demanding money.

They claimed that a criminal case had been opened against the victim for "illegal detention of a person" and that he could be arrested. To support their claims, they referred to supposed close ties with the police, naming a specific officer, and demanded $30,000 to avoid imprisonment.

The victim, frightened, handed them $2,500, after which they fled the scene.

However, during the investigation, it was revealed that the detainees had no connection to the police. They are currently in a temporary detention facility for 48 hours.

According to a decision by the city court, the suspects were released under house arrest, but the investigation into the fraud case is ongoing, as reported in the official release.
