On January 3, 2026, police officers from the Kurshab ayil department of the Uzgen District Department of Internal Affairs, abusing their entrusted powers, unlawfully detained two citizens, applying physical force against them without the necessary procedural documentation. As a result of these actions, one of the detainees, citizen A.B., sustained serious bodily injuries. This information was announced by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.
According to the information received, on January 5, 2026, the Prosecutor's Office of the Osh Region initiated a criminal case under Article 130, Part 3, Clause 2, as well as Article 338, Part 2, Clause 4 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan. This case was transferred to the investigative department of the State Committee for National Security for further investigation.
At present, three police officers, namely S.H., A.A., and I.K., have been detained and are under court custody for two months. Investigative activities are ongoing.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Osh Region is monitoring the progress of the criminal case, and instructions have been given for conducting examinations and preparing the necessary documents.
