In the Ton district of the Issyk-Kul region, employees of a state enterprise engaged in the development of fish farming have been detained, as reported by a Turmush correspondent citing local law enforcement agencies.

According to information received by the police, some employees of the enterprise are suspected of illegal fishing. In this regard, the Ton district internal affairs department has initiated a criminal case under Article 310 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to illegal fishing and harvesting of fish or aquatic animals, and has initiated special investigative actions.

During these activities, which took place on December 5, two specialists from the enterprise were detained: leading specialist J.M. (born in 1978) and chief specialist S.K. (born in 1973).

Preliminary data indicate that the suspects, abusing their official powers, used their job responsibilities related to artificial fish breeding to cover up illegal activities. They passed off the caught fish as "unfit" and subsequently systematically sold it on the black market.

The district court has decided to impose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for two months, after which the suspects were taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
