A fisherman, expressing his concerns to Kaktus.media, reported that he was engaged in amateur fishing at Lake Issyk-Kul. He claims that the employees of the Tourist Eco-Inspection of the Kyrgyz Republic unjustly accused him of industrial fish catch.

In the video presented, the fisherman states that he legally purchased a ticket for amateur fishing and uses a fishing rod, which refutes the accusations of industrial fishing.

According to information provided by Kaktus.media from the Interior Ministry of the Issyk-Kul region, the incident captured on video occurred against the backdrop of the three-year moratorium on industrial fish catch in Issyk-Kul and Son-Kul, introduced by Presidential Decree No. 172 on July 10, 2023. The main goal of this moratorium is to preserve and restore fish stocks.

The ban on fishing was implemented based on recommendations from the Institute of Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Spawning periods at Issyk-Kul:

However, as seen in the video, some citizens attempt to secretly set nets, obtaining special permits for this and hiding in bushes or on the shore. These actions contradict the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and are under strict control by the relevant authorities," the police noted.

The Tourist-Ecological Police Department of the Issyk-Kul region urges the public to comply with the laws and take care of fish stocks.
