Poachers detained for illegal fishing at Issyk-Kul

On October 31, information was received at the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region about illegal fishing in the area of the village of Ananyevo. It was also reported that the offenders possessed two units of firearms of unknown origin. This information was provided by the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region.

A response investigative group from the police station located in the village of Ananyevo immediately went to the scene.

During the inspection, 87 fish and 2 units of firearms were found and seized from a local resident identified as A.I. The information about the incident was registered in the Unified Register of Incidents of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region, and a criminal case was initiated under Article 310 of the Criminal Code.

During the investigation, individuals involved in this offense were identified: A.I. (born in 1990, a resident of the village of Ananyevo), A.Z. (born in 1991, a resident of the village of Orto-Örüktü), and B.Zh. (born in 1993, also a resident of the village of Orto-Örüktü).

During searches at the suspects' residences, 11 units of firearms, as well as ammunition and equipment for their production, were found at A.I.'s home. Rubber boots and two life vests were discovered at A.Z.'s residence.

A.I. and A.Z. were interrogated as suspects and placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Articles 96-97 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Currently, the regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision for the Issyk-Kul region is conducting the necessary examinations.
The investigation is ongoing.
