Poachers with weapons and fish detained in the Issyk-Kul region

Information about illegal fishing in the area of the village of Ananyevo was received by the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region on October 31, 2025. According to a statement from the press service of the regional police, two firearms of unknown model were found with the suspected poachers.

A forensic investigative group from the police of the village of Ananyevo was dispatched to the scene. During the inspection, 87 fish and two firearms were seized from one of the villagers, A.I., born in 1990.

A criminal case was initiated based on Article 310 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As a result of the investigation, individuals involved in this crime were identified: A.I., born in 1990, from the village of Ananyevo; A.Z., born in 1991, from the village of Orto-Örüktü; and B.J., born in 1993, also a resident of the village of Orto-Örüktü.

During searches at the suspects' residences, 11 firearms, ammunition, and equipment for their production were found at A.I.'s home. Rubber boots and two life jackets used in poaching were found at A.Z.'s place.

A.I. and A.Z. were interrogated as suspects and placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Articles 96–97 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Currently, the regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision for the Issyk-Kul region is conducting the necessary examinations.

Investigative actions in this case are ongoing.
