Two Men Detained for Illegal Fishing at Issyk-Kul

According to the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region, two men engaged in poaching were detained in the Issyk-Kul area.

According to the provided information, the incident occurred on November 23 at 05:20. Officers of the tourist-ecological police apprehended residents of the village of Kyzyl-Tuu in the Ton district — 39-year-old A.R. and 40-year-old K.Z. — during their illegal fishing using a homemade fishing tool — a pitchfork.

During the inspection, 18 fish were found and seized from the detainees, which became material evidence in the case.

This incident has been recorded in the Unified Register of Crimes of the Ton district, and a criminal case has been initiated under Article 310 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning illegal hunting and fishing or the extraction of aquatic animals.

The court of the Jetiy-Oguz district has chosen a preventive measure in the form of one month of detention for the suspects.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
