In the Batken region, a man was detained who intended to illegally transport cattle across the border.

According to information provided by the press service of the regional police department, on November 1, 2025, at around 10:30 PM, officers from the Drug Enforcement Agency stopped a Volvo truck in the vicinity of the village of Kara-Bak. During the inspection, 35 heads of cattle were found in the vehicle, which were being smuggled across the border without passing through customs control.

The investigation revealed that a 36-year-old resident of the capital, Bishkek, named M.K., had previously coordinated his actions with a citizen of a neighboring country and developed a plan for the illegal transportation of cattle. He hired drivers — citizens K.F. and E.T., both born in 1999, and tasked them with transporting the animals through the Leilek district.

The law enforcement agencies prevented this crime, with the total value of the detained cattle amounting to 2.8 million soms.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under Articles 37 ("Attempted Crime") and 231 ("Economic Smuggling") of the Criminal Code.

According to police data, the detained M.K. has been placed in a temporary detention facility, and investigative actions are ongoing.
