In Batken, a man decided to smuggle dozens of sheep across the border.

In the Batken region, a 31-year-old man was detained on suspicion of attempting to smuggle livestock.

According to information from the Internal Affairs Department of the Batken region, the detainee turned out to be a resident of the village of Boz-Adyr, located in the Suu-Bashy rural district. His name is G.D., and he was caught at the moment he was trying to illegally transport animals.

During the investigation, officers from the Batken Department of Internal Affairs established that G.D. had previously made an agreement with a citizen of a neighboring country named Kojo and planned to transport 32 sheep from the territory of Kyrgyzstan. To do this, he loaded the animals into a "Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 408" and intended to cross the border through an area known as "11 hectares," located in the Suu-Bashy rural district. However, his actions were intercepted by the police at the moment of the smuggling attempt.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 231 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "Economic Smuggling."

G.D. has been placed in a temporary detention facility, and investigative actions are ongoing.
