Several civil servants, both current and former, have been detained in Osh in connection with suspicions of official misconduct. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
According to available information, law enforcement agencies received reports that a plot of land designated for social needs, covering an area of 8,000 square meters, was unlawfully removed from municipal ownership and transferred to private hands due to the actions of responsible officials.
As a result of the verification of the collected materials, a criminal case was initiated under Article No. 337 (Abuse of Office) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Operational investigative actions are underway.
During the operational-search activities conducted by the Main Department of Criminal Investigation of the MIA in conjunction with the Investigative Service of the Osh City Police Department, the following individuals were identified and detained:
- Sh.K., Deputy Director of the Osh Branch of the State Agency for Land Resources, Cadastre, Geodesy, and Cartography under the Ministry of Agriculture, born in 1978;
- S.A., former head of the Municipal Property Management of the Osh City Mayor's Office, born in 1968.
According to the assessment by the independent organization "Land Reforms South," the value of this land plot is estimated at 200 million soms. The land plot has been returned to the management of the municipal property of the Osh Mayor's Office.
Currently, investigative activities are ongoing to identify other participants in this crime.
