Law enforcement officers detained a group of fraudsters in Bishkek who posed as employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This became known thanks to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

At the beginning of 2026, a citizen named K.A. approached the Internal Investigations Service, reporting a case of fraud that resulted in him losing a significant amount of money.

According to him, the criminals introduced themselves as law enforcement officers and promised to help in "solving a criminal case," for which they requested $10,000. However, they did not fulfill their promises and refused to return the money.

Based on his statement, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209 ("Fraud") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As a result of operational-search activities, two suspects were detained — S.A., born in 1998, and S.M., born in 1976. Later, the investigation was able to identify the third member of the group — A.A., born in 1982.

It is worth noting that this third suspect already had a criminal record and is currently in the detention center of the State Committee for National Security on another case related to fraud.

Investigative actions are ongoing, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is trying to determine whether the detainees may be involved in other similar crimes.
