A criminal case was initiated following a report from a citizen, N.A.E., who stated that he was being blackmailed by a woman named Svetlana and her accomplices. They, claiming to be police officers, accused him of raiding a business and threatened to disseminate compromising videos on social media and in the media, demanding a bribe of 100,000 dollars.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 208 (Extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During operational activities, citizen R.S.A. was detained while receiving part of the amount of 1,500,000 soms. She had bills marked for operational purposes seized from her.
Later, her accomplice was identified and detained - citizen A.R.K., born in 1996. During a search of his residence, fake identity documents issued in the name of an operational officer with the rank of police captain, as well as a permit for carrying weapons and a national security employee badge, were found.
The First May District Court of Bishkek has ordered both suspects to be held in custody.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
