
A woman was detained in Tokmok for posing as a "folk healer" and is suspected of fraud. This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region.
According to law enforcement agencies, information appeared on Instagram that a certain M.E., residing in one of the neighborhoods of Tokmok, was collecting money from people by offering "treatment in the Kyrgyz national style," as well as taking out loans in their names and appropriating the funds received.
As a result of the investigation, it was established that M.E., born in 1984, was indeed deceiving local residents, obtaining money from them under various pretexts.
N.Z. approached the Tokmok police department, stating that from February to October 2024, M.E. had taken her money amounting to 1.5 million soms, taking advantage of her trust.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Fraud").
The suspect was arrested in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and placed in a temporary detention facility. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.
In addition to N.Z., two other citizens have approached the police with similar statements. Investigative actions are ongoing.
