The fraudster operated for more than five years
In the Chui region, law enforcement officers detained a suspect in a fraud case related to the installation of video surveillance systems, as reported by the regional police department.
A resident of the village of Dmitrievka, V.A., filed a complaint with the police in the Issyk-Ata district, detailing the fraudulent actions of a citizen named K.P. Through mutual acquaintances, K.P. offered to install a video surveillance system in the complainant's home. He presented himself as an expert in camera installation and, demonstrating his "experience," convinced the man to purchase "expensive and high-quality equipment." The established cost of the service amounted to 101,000 soms, which included eight cameras and installation work. Trusting his promises, the complainant handed over the money to K.P., who, in turn, provided used cameras, passing them off as new, and, failing to complete the installation, disappeared. The fraudster used the funds for personal needs.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 209 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The suspect K.P., born in 1994, was detained by the police and, by court order, was placed in custody.
During the investigation, it was revealed that in December 2019, K.P. registered a company called OsOO "MT" with the Ministry of Justice, where he held the position of director and was the sole founder. Using this legal entity, he posted advertisements for video surveillance system installation services, misleading citizens and misappropriating their money. His connection to similar crimes in other regions and in Bishkek has also been established," the police department added.
