In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, law enforcement officers arrested a group of fraudsters who deceitfully posed as employees of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). This was reported by representatives of the city’s Main Internal Affairs Directorate.
According to information, a 70-year-old man contacted the police, stating that he had fallen victim to this crime. He reported that unknown individuals convinced him to transfer money for the "protection of property and financing of anti-terrorist activities."
The fraud scheme involved the perpetrators gaining the trust of the elderly man over nearly a month by posing as law enforcement officers. As a result, he sold his apartment and transferred a large sum of money to 18 different bank accounts, becoming a victim of the scam.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding the fraud. During the investigation, six so-called "droppers"—accomplices of the fraudsters, to whose accounts the transferred funds were sent—were detained. All detainees have been placed in a temporary detention facility.
Law enforcement agencies remind citizens that transferring their bank cards, SIM cards, and access codes to mobile banking to other individuals is a serious crime. Such actions are punishable by up to seven years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
