Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seitov recently spoke at a briefing about the measures the government of the Kyrgyz Republic is taking to stabilize prices for key goods and services. He noted that the state strategy is aimed at preventing sharp price fluctuations through a combination of economic and administrative tools.
In particular, the government continues the practice of entering into direct agreements with local producers to stabilize prices on essential goods. Efforts are underway to create reliable sources of supply for raw materials and food products, which should minimize the risks of disruptions.
Choro Seitov also emphasized the state of the fuel and lubricants market, noting that the volumes and prices of fuel are under constant control.
“The Ministry of Economy, the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, and the Ministry of Energy are monitoring prices and stocks of fuel and lubricants. The situation is under close attention from the Cabinet of Ministers. We will not allow a fuel deficit,” he stated.
Additionally, he added that fixed prices for fuel and lubricants have already been established for farmers in preparation for the spring fieldwork, which will enable them to conduct the sowing campaign in a timely and economical manner.
