At the beginning of 2023, Kyrgyzstan recorded a gross domestic product growth of 8.8% for the first two months. This data was presented in the weekly macroeconomic review of the Eurasian Development Bank.
According to the EDB, the main factor contributing to this growth was a significant increase in industrial production, which rose by 14.7%. This is linked to a 11.1% increase in the output of key metals and a 1.8-fold increase in the extraction of metal ores. Domestic demand remains an important driver of growth: wholesale and retail trade increased by 11.4%, while investments grew by 8.4%.
Analysts forecast that by 2026, the GDP growth of Kyrgyzstan is expected to reach 9.3%.
