
In the Osh region, in the Kara-Suu district, the project for the construction of the small hydropower station "Papan" is ongoing, with a capacity of 27 MW. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.
Currently, the following stages of work have been completed:
- A temporary road 8 kilometers long has been built leading to the site where the hydropower station will be located.
- The land plot necessary for the construction of the water intake has already been allocated in the area of the Papan reservoir.
- The process of land allocation and modification for the creation of a production hub, which includes the hydropower station building and an open switchgear with a voltage of 110 kV (OSG-110 kV), is nearing completion.
- Technical conditions for providing electricity during the construction period have been developed and agreed upon.
- Issues regarding land allocation for the placement of supports for the overhead power line VL-110 kV from the Papan HPP towards the VL-110 kV "Uzlova - Besh-Moynok" are being actively resolved.
In addition, the design and estimate documentation is currently being developed, a preliminary construction plan has been determined, access to the territory of the Papan reservoir has been obtained, and engineering surveys are ongoing.
It is worth noting that on October 5, 2024, a ceremonial event was held for the laying of the capsule for the Papan HPP.
