On January 19, 2026, employees of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan detained a worker of the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek City Transport" while receiving a bribe of 1 million soms. This event occurred as part of an investigation into corrupt actions in the Department of Transport and Road Transport Infrastructure Development of the capital's city hall.
It was found that some employees of the procurement department of this municipal enterprise regularly extorted 10% of the total tender amount, creating artificial obstacles and delaying the payment process for completed work.
As a result of operational actions, an employee of the Municipal Enterprise "A.K.Sh." was detained and is currently in custody at the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Currently, work is underway to assess the legal justification of the actions of these municipal employees, as well as to identify possible accomplices.
