In Bishkek, on February 7 at 17:00, there will be a performance of the ballet "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" on the stage of the A. Maldybaev Kyrgyz National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
This ballet is based on the poem of the same name by Alexander Pushkin, which tells the story of the tragic love of Khan Girey for the Polish girl Maria, who was captured. The water flowing from the fountain of the Bakhchisarai Palace symbolizes the tears of the unfortunate khan.
The version presented in Kyrgyzstan is an adaptation of the choreography by Rostislav Zakharov, who was a pioneer of the dramatic ballet genre. The implementation of this performance is overseen by the People's Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR Erkin Madevilova.
