
On January 23, a meeting took place in Bishkek between Meder Abakirov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, and Volker Frobarth, Head of the OSCE Program Office. This information was published by the press service of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, current issues of Kyrgyzstan's interaction with the OSCE were discussed, as well as key areas of cooperation for 2026.
The parties reviewed upcoming high-profile visits, particularly the anticipated arrival of OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu in Kyrgyzstan, as well as possible visits by the Director of the ODIHR and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media. The Kyrgyz side expressed its readiness to provide the necessary organizational support for these visits and to arrange significant meetings with the country's leadership.
There was also an exchange of views on the prospects for implementing regional OSCE initiatives, including projects in the areas of border cooperation and confidence-building in Central Asia.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing the partnership between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE, based on the principles of respect, open dialogue, and consideration of the interests of the host party.
