- At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh scheduled for January 28, a draft law will be discussed that proposes reducing the retention period for negative information in borrowers' credit histories from five to three years. This issue is included in the agenda of the meeting.

The initiator of these changes is the Ministry of Economy and Commerce. In its justification, the ministry pointed out several reasons why this draft law is necessary:

– to create more comfortable conditions for approximately 200,000 active borrowers who are currently on the "credit blacklist";

– to improve access to loans for individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises;

– to support the development of small and medium-sized businesses;

– to reduce the level of shadow lending and increase the number of microloans outside the official financial system.
