Uzbekistan Authorities Express Concern Over Stringent Checks on Migrants in Russia

At the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Olimjon Abdullaev, and the Russian Ambassador Alexey Erkhov, issues concerning the protection of the rights of Uzbek citizens working in Russia were discussed, as stated on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek delegation emphasized the need to prevent any forms of violation of the rights and human dignity of Uzbek citizens, regardless of their migration status, during inspections and raids.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan noted that both sides confirmed their intention to continue a constructive and respectful dialogue to regulate migration processes. It was also decided that regular consultations and bilateral meetings at the consular level are necessary.

General consuls from the regions of the Russian Federation also participated in the discussion, along with the leadership of the consular department and officials responsible for migration issues from the Russian side, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies.
