At the business forum dedicated to the strategic development of the Chui region, today, January 28, 2026, the head of the textile company Kunduz Asanalieva pointed out a number of systemic barriers hindering the industry's development.

She noted that limited production capacities and a lack of land resources, as well as the absence of industrial parks, impede local producers from entering international markets.

“When federal retail chains request the supply of hundreds of thousands of units of products, we run into limitations regarding land and capacities. Without a cluster approach and industrial parks, scaling up exports becomes extremely difficult,” Asanalieva said.

According to her, the textile industry of Kyrgyzstan remains 85% dependent on imports, especially in terms of raw materials, which significantly affects the cost of production. In this regard, the entrepreneur advocated for the creation of industry clusters and an increase in areas allocated for production.

Asanalieva also emphasized the shortage of qualified personnel and proposed the implementation of a dual education system based on vocational schools in collaboration with businesses.

During the forum, a solution for recycling textile waste was also proposed. Ashadbek Majitov, a representative of a company engaged in the recycling of sewing waste, reported that their enterprise collects waste from Bishkek and processes it into geotextiles, insulation materials, and carpet products, some of which have been exported to Kazakhstan since the beginning of January this year.
