
On January 30, the parliamentary group "Mekenchil" held a meeting to review information on the readiness of the agricultural sector for spring field work in 2026.
Zhanybek Kerimaliev, the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry, reported that preparations for the work, including irrigation facilities, provision of seeds, fertilizers, and fuel and lubricants, are being carried out according to the approved plan.
During the discussion, deputies raised several important issues regarding the construction and restoration of irrigation systems, provision of irrigation water, fuel and lubricants, mineral fertilizers, as well as the provision of preferential loans. Aspects of phytosanitary control, the implementation of science in the agro-industrial sector, leasing of agricultural machinery, and the need for reforms to develop processing and regions were also considered.
In addition, the deputies heard information about the General Plan project for the city of Bishkek until 2050. Deputy Mayor Azamat Kadyrov presented the progress of the document's preparation, and the deputies discussed the procedures for its approval, changes to the "red lines," demolition of residential houses, as well as issues related to the implementation of land amnesty and the preservation of certain provisions of the current general plan.
