The meeting was chaired by Nurlan Ermatov, the first deputy of the presidential representative. The event was also attended by heads of various regional institutions and enterprises, akims, and mayors of districts and cities. Participants noted that compared to 2024, the number of accidents increased by 22.3%, which corresponds to 135 traffic accidents.
As a result of these incidents, 1,246 people were injured and sought medical assistance. The highest number of accidents occurred on the Bishkek—Osh highway, where 354 traffic accidents were recorded, indicating an increase in accident rates in the areas and cities located along this road, as well as in the city of Manas.
In particular, in Manas, the number of traffic accidents increased by 62.5%, rising from 96 to 156 cases. In the Toktogul district, the increase was 42.3% (from 92 to 131), while in the Nooken district, there was an increase of 82% (from 74 to 135). Unfortunately, among the participants in the traffic accidents were minors. Nurlan Ermatov emphasized that the responsibility for preventing traffic accidents should not rest solely with the traffic safety authorities; comprehensive measures must be taken by all stakeholders, including emergency services and local self-government bodies.
In his report, Ermatov also analyzed the causes of accidents, among which were:
- lack of road signs — 10 accidents;
- insufficient night lighting — 27 accidents;
- absence of guardrails — 10 accidents;
- unsatisfactory condition of the roadside — 19 accidents;
- irregularities on the road — 2 accidents;
- slippery road surface — 9 accidents;
- lack of road markings — 81 accidents;
- overall poor condition of the road — 212 accidents.
