According to available information, the snow slide occurred on the pasture Jürgür, located in the Birinchi-Mai rural district of the Kara-Kulja region. As a result of the incident, a 34-year-old citizen, B. uulu M., was buried under the snow.
“On February 1, 2026, at 15:00, 5 rescuers were dispatched from the Kara-Kulja unit No. 66, but darkness prevented them from reaching the scene,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations added.
On the morning of February 2, at 06:00, an operational group led by Lieutenant Colonel A. Isakulov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the KR for the Osh region, along with 10 rescuers from the Republican Separate Rescue Unit, began search operations, as reported in the official press release.
