During the meeting, the participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the International Forum on Migration was also discussed, which will be chaired by Annalena Baerbock, head of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. As part of the forum, it is planned to present a national report on the implementation of the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
One of the main outcomes of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and the IOM Mission in Kyrgyzstan. This document provides for the establishment of a Pre-Departure Orientation and Reintegration Center (PDO&RC) in Osh, which will focus on informing citizens about safe and legal employment opportunities, organizing pre-departure training programs, and providing information and support to returning migrants.
In addition, following the meeting, Bermet Moldobaeva, head of the IOM mission, was awarded the "Medal for Cooperation" from the Ministry. The parties emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts in implementing projects aimed at improving the working conditions of migrants and protecting their rights, as well as strengthening mechanisms for international dialogue on migration issues.
