
As clarified by the State Penitentiary Service, despite attempts to provide medical assistance, Abdyrov could not be saved. An investigative operational group from the State Penitentiary Service and representatives of the prosecutor's office, who oversee compliance with the law in institutions, were dispatched to the scene.
In connection with the incident, all necessary materials were collected and registered in the established manner. Forensic medical examinations have also been appointed, within which a pre-investigation check is being conducted.
It is worth noting that Abdyrov was transferred to SIZO-1 on December 17, 2025, from the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek. His detention took place on September 30, 2025, when officers from the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region accused him of a crime under part 2 of article 122 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. On October 1, 2025, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention, the term of which was extended until March 29, 2026.
Recall that Kumarbek Abdyrov was accused of a series of rapes and murders of girls whom he picked up as a taxi driver. Among his victims are Kamila Duyshaeva and Aysulu Mukasheva.
