A suspect in a series of rapes and murders died in pre-trial detention - details

The press service of the State Penitentiary Service reported the death of a suspect in pre-trial detention center No. 21. The incident occurred on February 7, 2026, around 12:30 PM, when A.K.K. was found hanged in his cell — a suspect in a series of serious crimes, including rapes and murders.

Specialists who arrived at the scene reported that the man used his pants to commit suicide, hanging himself on the internal grating door of the cell. Despite attempts to provide him with medical assistance, the life of the suspect could not be saved.

A forensic investigative team, along with representatives from the prosecutor's office, which oversees compliance with laws in institutions, promptly arrived at the scene. Necessary materials were collected and registered in accordance with established procedures. Forensic medical examinations were also appointed, and a preliminary investigation was initiated.

It should be noted that A.K.K. was transferred to pre-trial detention center No. 1 on December 17, 2025, from the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek.

The suspect was detained on September 30, 2025, by officers of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jeti-Oguz District of the Issyk-Kul Region on suspicion of committing a crime under part 2 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. On October 1, 2025, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention, and later the detention period was extended until March 29, 2026.

We remind you that A.K.K. was accused of committing a series of rapes and murders of girls whom he picked up while working as a taxi driver. Among his victims were Kamila Duyshaeva and Aysulu Mukasheva.
